The problem with creating new accounts in the Tracker is fixed. However, the "captcha" images provided by JIRA are not always good and it doesn't provide the ability to request a better one. If you can't read the image, you have to start over, sorry. Memory exhaustion problems with the JVM that have been causing JIRA to crash in the past days seem to have been righted, at least for now. Thanks again, Pavel.
Broadview Software has created two new VMs for the project's developers and testers to use as build farms for POSIX and Windows, respectively. This enables us to automate the daily snapshot builds and transfer them each day at approximately midnight GMT to the pre-release area for field testing.
The problem with the tracker.firebirdsql.org URL has now been resolved and old bookmarks should work again. There is still a problem with Java that is preventing the creation of new accounts in the Tracker system: some point in the layering does not like the OpenJDK. Pavel is working on that. In the meantime, if you don't have a Tracker account and need to file a bug report, please subscribe to the Firebird-devel list and post the problem description there.
Firebird's Jira Tracker is now restored on the new VM, with data up to 5 December 2009. However, we have lost attachments from the last two years. Missing ticket headers from after Dec 5 will need to be reconstructed from notification messages.
Sorry to say, the Project still has no Tracker and no news mirror. If you have bugs to report, either in existing releases or in the V.2.5 first release candidate, please post your report to the Firebird-devel list. For now, if you find broken links on this website (other than those to the dead servers) then please feel free to inform us via a message to the Firebird-website or the Firebird-general list.
Thanks to the progressive death of the NAS server from which all our Internet facilities are served, we lost everything — Tracker, website, Wiki and news mirrors — piece-by-piece over the past days.
The latest Windows snapshots have been uploaded.
The project team announces that kits of Firebird 2.5.0 release candidate 1 are now available for all the supported main-line platforms (Win32, Win 64, Linux i86 and x86-64 and MacOS-X/Darwin i86 and x86-64). Please test it with your loads and report back to Firebird-devel. Note, this is the first of two RC releases.
The Firebird 2.1.3 MacOSX Intel (32bit and 64bit) kits have been replaced with new ones that solve a problem with exception handling on MacOSX 10.6 and GCC 4.1.2.
The project is pleased to announce that Firebird 1.5.6 release kits are now available for all the supported main-line platforms (Win32, Linux i86 and MacOS-X/Darwin i86 and PPC). No further sub-releases are planned for the V.1.5.x series.
