Firebird made great progress in 2024. The most important technical achievement was the release of Firebird 5.0, followed by several updates and new versions of database drivers. The community saw big changes too - the Firebird Foundation moved to its new home in the Czech Republic, and we launched our first certification program. Users got many new learning resources, including a free book about Firebird 5, helpful articles, videos, and the new EmberWings magazine.
